Our Story
Two Chicagoans, one Southern zip code.
Mark and Tara Fanello grew up in the south suburbs of Chicago, together since they were teenagers and married in 2006. They have always cooked, hosted and fed people, the kind of family where the table is the main event.
In 2017 they moved the family to Powell, Tennessee. By 2021 they decided to put their two worlds on one plate: their Italian and Chicagoan roots, their South Side deep-dish, and the Southern hospitality of their new home. That is the Southern Yankee.
The dough and sauce are their own, perfected over years. The truck moves around the Knoxville area, but the standard does not: a quality product and a customer-first approach, every single time.
